Campaign Story
My name is Rachael, and I’m writing this not just as a woman hoping to become a mother, but as someone who believes in perseverance, love, and the quiet strength of everyday people. My husband Dan and I have been together for almost six years, building a life rooted in loyalty, resilience, and laughter, even in the toughest moments.
Dan works full time as a wastewater operator, an often underappreciated job but one that is critical to keeping our communities safe and running smoothly. He takes great pride in what he does and is always the first to pick up extra shifts or overtime to support our household. Outside of work, he’s the kind of person who is always helping a neighbor fix something, offering a ride, or showing up just when someone needs a hand. He is a good friend to many and the kind of man people count on.
I work at a law office as the Assistant to the Director of Finance during the day, handling billing and legal operations. In the evenings, I pour my heart into my creative side. I’m a singer and songwriter, and I’m also currently working on my first children’s book series. It’s a dream I’ve carried since I was a little girl, and I hope one day I’ll be reading those stories to our child.
We come from incredibly supportive families: loving parents, close-knit siblings, and a whole crew of nieces and nephews who fill our lives with joy and laughter. Family means everything to us. I lost my mother when I was 23, and though her absence is still felt every day, her love and strength continue to shape the woman I am today. She is one of the biggest reasons I long to be a mom myself, to carry forward the care and comfort she gave me.
We are not just asking for a chance to be parents. We are preparing every day to be the kind of parents who raise kind, strong, and deeply loved children. We know the journey to parenthood is not always linear or fair. Ours has been complicated by medical challenges and quiet heartbreaks. But this story is not about those details. It is about our will to keep going.
We would be honored to receive your support not just for financial relief, but because it would affirm something deeper: that our story matters, and that others believe in the future we are trying to build.
Thank you for reading our story. Even the act of writing this has given us hope. We are grateful for the chance to share who we are and for the possibility of one day hearing a little voice call us Mom and Dad.
